Text: The development of television in the 20 century

What do you know about the of TV?

The first television pictures went on the air just eight years after the first World War in the BBC of London produced the first TV program Here’s looking at you. The problem was that sets were very expensive, so just a few people had them.
The real TV revolution began after the second World War in America.
In the ’50s, TV culture was rapidly becoming a fact of life, and ’60s and ’70s television star to satisfy the public’s desire both for entertainment and information (in 1969, the whole world saw Armstrong’s first steps on the moon).
In the ’80s, new inventions improved television: the video recorder, the satellite, cable TV and high- definition television.

What is there left for television to achieve in the future?

Two-way communication. Viewers will be able to ask questions via remote control about what the watching, and the answers will appear on their screens.

Who knows what else will happen?

Nobody does. Only future will tell us.

O que você sabe sobre a história da TV?

A primeira imagem da televisão foi ao ar somente oito anos depois da Primeira Guerra Mundial. Nos anos 40 a BBC de Londres produziu o primeiro programa de TV Here’s Looking at you (Aqui olhando para vocês). O problema era que aparelhos de TV eram muitos caros, então apenas poucas pessoas os tinham.
A real revolução da TV começou depois da segunda Guerra Mundial na América.
Nos anos 50, a cultura na TV foi rapidamente tornando-se um fato de vida, e nos anos 60 e 70 a televisão começou a satisfazer o desejo do público ambos por entretenimento e informação (em 1969, o mundo todo viu os primeiros passos de Neil Armstrong na lua)
Nos anos 80, novas invenções melhoraram a televisão: o vídeo, o satélite, TV acabo e Televisão de alta definição.

O que falta para a televisão realizar no futuro?

Duas vias de comunicação. Espectadores serão capazes de perguntar via controle remoto a respeito do que estão assistindo, e as respostas aparecerão em suas telas.

Quem sabe o que mais acontecerá?

Ninguém - Só o futuro nos dirá.
